All equipment in the depot is top of the line from the best producers in the industry. Most of the processes are fully automated and require minimum human interference, which brings the safety levels to the highest standards.
Kricon Tallinn depot was founded in July 2018. It is located only 1 km from Port of Muuga, which makes it a perfect destination to reach on the way to/from the terminal.
Tank container cleaning follows a set sequence: pre-wash to remove cargo residue, interior wash with hot or cold water and approved cleaning agents, rinsing, drying, and a final inspection. The method depends on the previous cargo and the product to be loaded next. Kricon performs tank cleaning at its own facilities.
Tank cleaning at Kricon is performed in accordance with SQAS and EFTCO cleaning codes, food-grade wash protocols, and hazmat wash procedures. Each cleaned tank receives a wash certificate documenting the cleaning method and agents used, which accompanies the container to the next cargo owner.
A standard tank container cleaning takes between 2 and 12 hours, depending on the previous cargo, the cleaning method required, and drying time. Tanks that previously carried hazardous or food-grade products may need extended procedures with additional rinse cycles and gas-free certification.
